Airline offices cope with National Day vacation rush

Airline offices in the Kingdom are experiencing an increased rush of holiday-makers making early bookings ahead of the four-day extended weekend marking the Kingdom’s National Day on Sept. 23.
Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) and nasair are gearing up to cope with the increased volume of domestic travelers.
Saudia is planning to operate additional flights from Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam to various Saudi cities to meet high demand.
“We have decided to operate additional flights from Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam to various cities in the Kingdom on account of the National Day,” said Waleed Al-Uloomi of Saudi Arabian Airlines.
The carriers are deploying flights that can carry a greater number of passengers, he told Arab News.
Nasair has announced a special scheme for travelers inside Saudi Arabia by charging only SR83 for domestic flights.
“Nasair is offering a special package for travelers flying inside the Kingdom on Sept. 23,” said Mohammed Akram, an official at nasair’s public relations department.
He said passengers planning to travel during the holiday can book their seats online from Sept. 17 to 23 but can only travel on Monday (23).
Nasair operates in 8 cities and major towns inside the Kingdom.
