Oman Air reports successful participation in Salalah fest

Oman Air announced its successful participation at the recently concluded Salalah Tourism Festival (STF), which is considered to be one of the region’s premier events.
Oman Air held many events and weekly raffles at its site at the festival to add more color and gaiety to the festive atmosphere. It offered visitors the opportunity to take part in a range of activities and to win prizes, which for the lucky winners meant taking home return tickets between two of Oman Air’s 43 destinations.
Oman Air’s Corporate Communications and Media Head Usama bin Karim Al-Haremi said: “This event has been a wonderful opportunity for us to join up with our customers and the general public to celebrate the exceptional natural phenomena called khareef (monsoon), also to participate fully in The STF of which Oman Air is proud to be the official carrier and major sponsor.”
Apart from entertaining activities, the festival attractions included exhibitions, child and traditional villages and theater shows. Most of the activities were staged in the municipality’s entertainment center.
“The event has been a great opportunity for us to engage with locals, and to show our appreciation for all their support and encouragement,” added Al-Haremi.
The STF is held every year to coincide with the khareef season, which is unique to this southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, bringing cool relief from the heat of the Gulf summer.
It has always been a practice with Oman Air to provide additional flights to Salalah during the khareef season and the STF, hence increased flights between the two cities during the months from June to September significantly, resulting in a total of 88, 536 additional seats being offered during the period.
