RIYADH: Centuries by Abdul Wahab and Salman Butt were the highlights of round 3 in the American Express T20 Cup cricket tournament, organized by the Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) here recently.
AL KHARJ ZONE: Pak Shaheen routed CKK by 7 wickets. CKK posted a reasonable total of 185 runs. For Shaheens, Ibrar was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 20. Abdul Wahab and Abdul Wahid also picked 1 wicket each. Pak Shaheen achieved their target off 17.3 overs. They lost early wickets, but Abdul Wahab played a captain’s knock of 116 to take his side home. Abdul Salam also played well for his unbeaten 39.
Shouraim eased past Saudi Jaguars by 45 runs. Shouraim scored 224 with contributions from Javed (49), Waqas (45), Arif (38) and Zeeshan (32). Faisal took 3 wickets and Arsalan 2. Saudi Jaguars in reply scored 179. Moni (61) and Haider (52) were the scorers. Waseem grabbed 3 wickets.
Amir Holidays got the better of arch-rivals Lahore Badshah by 23 runs. Amir Holidays batted first and put on board 218 for 7. Thanks to contributions from Kamran Hadi (43), Irfan (42), Sami (37) and Nadeem (28). Lahore Badshah fell short of target by 23 runs. Kamran Hadi bowled with great pace and rhythm and took 3 key wickets. Samiullah chipped in with two.
Punjab Lions put on the board 254. Thanks to a smashing innings of 122 of 40 balls by Salman Butt, which included 14 huge sixes. Fayyaz also made a valuable contribution of 57. Lahore Lions in reply could score 222.
HURAYMALA ZONE: FUCHS made short work of Knight Riders by 52 runs. FUCHS made first use of the track and scored 190 with Shahbaz (63), Nazim (45) and Shakeel (33), the main contributors. Knight Riders managed 138 runs in reply. Bilal top scored with 51 runs while Ejaz supported him with 38. Hafiz Asghar took 4 wickets while Javed and Awais got 2 each.
In another match, Falcons scored 223 against Riyadh Fighters. Thanks to Farrukh Saeed’s (82) and Asif’s (78). Yasir grabbed two wickets. Riyadh Fighters managed 183 in reply. Imran (42) and Yassir (39) did their best. Syed Sirajuddin took 4 wickets. Falcons won by 40 runs.
Riyadh Warriors humiliated Pak Eagles by 100 runs. The Warriors scored 180. Abdulaziz (71) and Sameer (52) were the main run getters. Akram took 2 wickets. Warriors restricted the Eagles to a meager 80. Mohsin was the highest scorer with 22. Shaik and Shakeel took 3 wickets each while Javed got 2.
Lahore Cricket Club (LCC) beat Royal Academy of Cricket (RAC) by 9 wickets. RAC batted first and scored 178. Saleem top scored with 61 and Tauseef added 32. For LCC, Niaz and Asif picked 3 wickets each while Jahangir got 2. LCC achieved their target in 17.1 overs. Nasir hammered 74 and Owais 67.
Green Bangla got past Pak Force by 4 wickets. Pak Force scored 166. Mashuq, Al Amin and Shajahan picked 2 wickets each for Green Bangla. Green Bangla raced to their target off 16.2 overs. Kakon (65) and Mithu (51) made that possible.
RIYADH ZONE: Tigers beat AKCC by 67 runs. Tigers scored 196 for 5 in their stipulated 20 overs. Saleesh (74), Alal (65) and Majeed (29) were the men in form. Moazzam took 2 wickets. AKCC were all out for 129. Nadeem top scored with 54 runs. Sharaf, Upol, Khalid and Faraz grabbed two wickets each.
Lahore Badshah Green (194 for 6) got the better of Kingdom Warriors by 21 runs. Afzal (50), Awais (28) and Musawir (22) were the main scorers. Atif took 4 wickets. Warriors in reply scored 173. Adil (48), Irfan (31) and Atif (31) put up a good fight. Samar Iqbal bowled and took 4 wickets while Waseem and Awais got 2 each.
Riyadh Royals beat Grundfos by 16 runs. Royals batted first scoring 191. Shahzad remained unbeaten on 94 while Mansoor added 23. Ali took 2 wickets.
Grundfos in reply fell short of target by 16 runs. Ali (39), Faris (33) and Alvi (31) made the rivals earn their victory. Kamran took 3 wickets and Naveed 2.
