Saudia passes tough Canadian test

The Saudi Arabian Airlines announced Thursday that it had passed the auditing requirements implemented by the Canadian Aviation Authority (CAA) and is ready to operate its first flight to Toronto, Canada.
According to Saudia, a group of delegates from the CAA visited the Kingdom from Sept. 1 to Sept. 10 to thoroughly inspect and audit requirements and conduct talks with airline officials. CAA delegates surveyed Saudia’s sectors and strategic units, including safety, quality, aviation security, air operations and ground services. They also visited the Prince Sultan Aviation Academy and the Saudia Catering Company.
Khalid Al-Mulhim, director-general of Saudi Arabian Airlines, said that new flight operations go in accordance with Saudia’s goal to solidify its international rank and serve as a bridge for Saudi passengers who want to go to Canada, especially Arab students studying under the King Abdullah Foreign Scholarship program.
