The Saudi Embassy in Canberra organized a cultural exhibition on Sunday to expose Australians to the Kingdom’s culture and traditions as well as to highlight the remarkable progress achieved by the country.
Hundreds of Australians visited the show where Saudis welcomed them by serving Arabic coffee (gahwa) and dates. The Australians were impressed by the Islamic architectural designs of the embassy building.
“A large number of antiques, old pottery and traditional dresses were on display at the show,” said Faisal Hefdi, deputy chief of the mission.
Saudi officials distributed booklets on the Kingdom and its culture among the visitors. “We are happy to see a large number of Australians visiting the show and this reflects their desire to know more about the Saudi culture,” Hefdi said.
