RIYADH: NAB, Evergreen, Bhatkal, Karachi Titans, Gujranwala, Mughal and Cricketers CC won their respective matches during the second week of the Sikandar Farooqui Memorial T20 cricket tournament, sponsored by the Saudi Cricket Center and organized by the Riyadh Cricket League, here.
The highlights of the week were fine batting display by Syed Waqar Ahmed, Rizwan and Sameer and all round performances by Basharat Shah and Zeeshan Malik. Asghar Khan impressed with his bowling.
NAB beat Pakhtoon Khawah by 23 runs. NAB batted first scored 189 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Basharat Shah (80) was in good form. He was well supported by Kamran (31), Waleed (24) and Abbas (37). Haroon, Mudassar and Sajid of Pakhtoon Khawah took 2 wickets each.
In reply Pakhtoon Khawah could make only 166 runs. Khalid (36) was the only batsman who put up a fight. Basharat Shah took 3 wickets while Abbas and Nazir took 2 wickets each.
Man-of- the-Match: Basharat Shah.
Ever Green 6ers routed Mehran by 5 wickets Mehran were bowled out for 125 runs. Abdul Rehman and Mudassar of Ever Green were in good form and took 3 wickets each and Amjad got 2.
In reply Ever Green achieved their target in the 18th over. Khawar Malik (43) and Aqeel (22) steered their team to victory. Usman Shah took 2 wickets.
Man-of-the-Match: Abdul Rehman.
Bhatkal Warriors eased past Konkan Green by 47 runs. Bhatkal made first of the wicket and put up 237 runs. Sameer top-scored with73 runs. He was supported by Khaled (42), Haneef (27) and Fadal (23). Nayeem took 3 wickets while Ajaz got 2.
In reply Konkan Green managed 190 runs. Danish Mullaji staged a one-man battle and scored 96 runs. Imran made 26 runs. Tahur of Bhatkal took 3 wickets while Safwan and Mahboob shared 4 wickets.
Man-of-the-Match: Sameer.
Karachi Titans edged past Deccan Stars by 8 runs. The Titans set a target of 182 runs. This was possible through Rizwan (68) and Moin (25). Mujtaba and Salah took 3 wickets each.
In reply Deccan Stars were out for 174 runs. Aamir (37), Bobby (24), Nisar (25) and Wasim (22) did their best. Asif, Moosa and Moin took 2 wickets each.
Man-of-the-Match: Rizwan.
Gujranwala worked hard for their 9-run win over Royal Fighters. Syed Waqar Ahmed scored a perfect ton and helped his team set up a target of 232 runs. He was supported by Usman Ashraf (47) and Dastageer (68).
In reply Royal Fighters went down fighting and fell short as they were bowled out for 223 runs. Siddiqullah (45), Ammen (40) and Izhar (44) put up a strong fight. Ashraf and Omar Khalid took 2 wickets.
Man-of-the-Match: Syed Waqar Ahmed.
Mughal crushed Cricket Samarwa by 53 runs. Batting first Mughal set a total of 223 runs. Sajjad (57), Javed (43), Sajjad Shah (42) and Asghar Khan (19) were the main contributors.
Shoaib took 4 wickets while Abubaker and Aasif Sheikh bagged 2 wickets each. In reply Cricket Samarwa were bowled out for 170 runs. Ahsan and Abubaker scored 45 and 40 runs respectively. Asghar Khan impressed with his bowling and took 5 wickets.
Man-of-the-Match: Asghar Khan.
Cricketers breezed past Diamond by 57 runs. Cricketers batted first and put up 192 runs. Zeeshan Malik (68), Farhan Malik (50) and Abdul Waheed (33) were the main run-getters. Ibrahim bagged 3 wickets.
In reply Diamond failed to achieve their target and were bowled out for 134 runs. Waseem (34), Imran (23) and Amer (22) were the main scorers. Nabeel took 3 wickets while Waqas, Zeeshan Malik and Zeeshan Khan got 2 each.
Man-of-the-Match: Zeeshan Malik.
