JEDDAH: Old Students crushed Peeran Warriors by 105 runs to clinch the Ace Travel Afternoon Cup cricket tournament, organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association here recently.
In a fight for the third place, Peeran XI eased past ICAD by 9 wickets.
Old Students made first use of the wicket and amassed 258 for 5 off 25 overs. Later, they bundled out the Warriors for 153 runs.
The highlight of the finals was an aggressive unbeaten 122 runs by Imran, which included 15 fours and a six.
His batting was a treat to watch and the bowlers, who gave 43 runs in the form of extras, seemed helpless as he single handedly flogged them to all parts of the ground. Umar contributed runs.
In pursuit of huge total, Peeran Warriors lost Ahsan Masoud early but Mohsin counter-attacked and kept one end up with a stylish 37 runs.
Later, Amin (28), Zafar (44) and Hussain (13) batted sensibly to bring about some respectability to the total as the other batsmen failed to counter the sharp bowling of Nazim (4 for 31) and Umar (3 for 42).
Man-of-the-Match: Imran
