Sarawat pulls away with Team of the Week award

With a masterstroke of a performance Sarawat Superstores pulled away from closest pursuer Cristal Global after the 11th session in the FTBJ-ICBL Novarino Inter-Company Bowling League 32nd Conference at Jeddah Lanes here.
Majid Aslani shot the high series of 717 on lines of 256, 237 and 224 and Sarawat clinched its first Team of the Week award on 39 points that could have been the first perfect 40 if it did not lose the first game to Jem Strikers by 3 points 997-994.
It was a case of Sarawat having a dose of its own medicine after Sarawat itself spoiled Falcon’s bid for 40 the previous week.
Still though Sarawat was a model of efficiency on the day.
Jem Strikers were a distant second in the day’s race to Sarawat on 32.5 followed by JM Derby 29.5, Hidada Ltd. 22 and Lance & 3rdy 20. D’ Barkads and Falcon tied on 19 points while Jeddah Lanes, Cristal Global and Sky Freight-TFC filled the last three spots on 16, 12 and 11.
After dropping the first game Sarawat swept the next two games and overall output to win the team honors hands down. Aslani could have made it a double except that he had to defer to Jem’s Pancho Cuevas for the Bowler of the Week award because of a league rule that a bowler could only win the individual award once.
Jimmy Urbano and Igna Salgado supported Aslani with solid rounds of 613 and 604 while Jeanette Cerbito and Marie Gumpal poured in 582 and 548 from the distaff side.
Men’s Bowler of the Week Cuevas carded 694 that went with the 569 by Tommy De Castro, 563 by Charie Guzman, 482 by Alma Bacero, 225-176 by Jess Pineda and 234 by Gerry Mandanas.
The ladies Bowler of the Week awardee was Lance’s Aisah Silabay who shot 651 (200, 190 and 201).
At JM Derby Roger Daquioag owned the highest score at 603 followed by Susan Patayan 600, May Lourdes 587 and Jimmy Mandingiado.
The duo of Romy Bunagan and Nanding Siasoco compiled 597 and 590 at the helm of Hidada with Pinky Acato on 534, Grace Siasoco 485, Amro Al amri 187-267 and Rene Martinez 169.
