Simmtronics, acknowledged as the third leading tablet manufacturer globally, has launched its latest XPAD tablet, the XPAD Freedom, at the Gitex.
The Simmtronics XPAD Freedom tablet comes with a 7.8-inch IPS display with 1024x768 pixels resolution. The tablet is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device with voice-calling support.
“This is designed for technology lovers who wish to use both 3G and 2G in a single device, which is enriched with a quad-core processor. The product will introduce in other markets very soon,” Indrajit Sabharwal, managing director of Simmtronics, told Arab News.
XPAD Freedom is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. The tablet includes 8GB of inbuilt storage, which further expandable up to 32GB with the help of microSD card. It sports dual cameras — a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Simmtronics XPAD Freedom tablet runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It packs a 5,000mAh battery, which the company claims can deliver up to 5 hours of Web browsing time and up to 6 hours of video browsing time.
Connectivity options on the tablet include Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, Micro-HDMI and 3G. The tablet comes preloaded with apps, including Documents To Go, Skype, BIGFLIX and YouTube. Sabharwal said the new development was a result of a revolutionary leap in computing technology that enabled tablet makers to incorporate the most advanced features in their products at a lower cost.
“We are keen to capitalize our leadership position in the mid-price tablet segment. The MENA region is an important market for Simmtronics and through products such as XPad Freedom we will continue to boost our range with solutions that address the needs of all tablet users.”
He said the Saudi market was very important for his product and “we are looking for an efficient agency in the Kingdom.” He added: “We generate about one-third of our business from Middle East markets and this region is very important for us. We have established one support center in Dubai to serve Middle East customers and we are eyeing the Saudi market,” he added.
The XPad Freedom is priced at 999 dirham and is aimed at a growing market segment that seeks advanced IT solutions at affordable cost.
With the launch of the XPAD Freedom tablet, Simmtronics has expanded its XPAD tablet portfolio that already includes XPAD-XQ1, XPAD X-722, XPAD X720, XPAD 801, XPAD X1010 and XPAD 802 tablets.
The New Delhi-based company has five manufacturing facilities worldwide and it has been winning the best tablet manufacturer in India award for the past two years. Simmtronics has won more than over 72 awards globally in the past 5 years.
