The Indian expatriate community from Karnataka living in the Eastern Province held a poetry gathering (mushaira) on Friday in Dhahran.
Imran Pratapgarhi, a young emerging poet from Uttar Pradesh, and popular humorist poet Jagtiyali Waheed from Andhra Pradesh, were flown in exclusively for a 1,200-strong audience.
Pratapgarhi is renowned for his portrayal of political and current affairs in India, while Waheed is known for delivering humorist couplets on social issues.
