This is good news that France is starting to realize the importance of integration. Lifting of ban on headscarves would be a major step and help improve France’s image in the world. We are living in a global village, where people are getting closer. Steps targeting own population only hurts the image of a country and drive a wedge between communities. It is heartening to note that the French have realized their folly and are ready to mend their ways.
I also urge Muslims in France to act as role models and respect the local laws and play their due roles in improving the image of Muslims. All Muslims should act as ambassadors of Islam.
