The 16th Gardens and Plants Festival, organized by the Royal Commission in Jubail, incorporated several other events and activities for children to appeal to a wider audience. The 10-day festival that began last Wednesday has several activities including recreational and educational contests, cartoon characters, a festival mascot called as “Muzher,” a clown show, titled “The Seven Dwarfs” and a circus superstar show.
This is besides Saad Al-Gahtani and Yasser Al-Bass, stars of the Bedaya channel program, “Zid Raseedak,” who also presented their programs.
Children are enjoying Tom and Jerry, recreational competitions with The Smurfs, The Seven Dwarfs, and characters from Sponge Bob and Patrick Star.
They can also enjoy Dora and Strawberry characters and the Orchida group shows on stage.
The events include shows by “The Angry Bird” group, the “Stars of the Kingdom” group and Khalid Al-Yousef, star of the “Albayt Yajmana” program.
The festival also includes Mario and Muzher’s stories on gardens and plants and a competition on the best dish.
Saleh Al-Mutairi, director of the Landscaping and Irrigation Department and chairman of the festival’s organizing committee, said there is a program about falconry for hunting lovers and an open day for people with special needs.
He said daily programs include a contest for the most beautiful painting portrayal of the flower and plants festival.
This is in addition to a carnival march with the cartoon characters, Muzher and the “Al-Shola” group from Kuwait and a play about flowers and plants by Muzher and the Smurfs.
The festival concludes with telematch games with Ibrahim Al-Muaidi from the Brently Group, a final operetta, fireworks, and a High Drama Group performance with Ali Al-Ghamdi and Nasser Al-Kanhal, the stars of the Al-Majd Channel.
