'Superman' rescues man from burning SUV

NEW BRIGHTON, Minnesota: A state trooper said a man showed “superhuman strength” when he bent the door of a burning SUV to rescue another motorist on a freeway in the midwestern US state of Minnesota.
Fifty-two-year-old Bob Renning was driving on Interstate 35W in New Brighton Sunday when he saw a vehicle behind him on fire.
Renning teold the Star Tribune (http://strib.mn/1m51GUH ) he pulled on the SUV’s door handle, but it wouldn’t open. He saw the driver pounding against the window.
Renning gripped the door frame, braced his foot against the door and pulled. The State Patrol said the door bent in half and the glass shattered.
State Trooper Zachary Hill, who was at the scene soon after, saids he couldn’t have achieved the same even with a crowbar.
New Brighton is 10 miles north of Minneapolis.
