Die Hard and Jeff Sobrebiga shared stage as the Best Team of the Week and Best Bowler of the Week respectively during the fourth session in the Almarai-FBGR Sunday Bowling league 14th Conference at the Universal Bowling Center.
The league is sponsored by Almarai Company under the auspices of Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR).
Die Hard mentored by Butch Mateo enjoyed a big night as it zeroed the Lane Strikers of Mohammad Anas 4-0 on points of 23-5.
Cheche Villanueva led Die Hard on 868 followed by Rudy Usudan 801, Ed Cruz 778, Bobby Jamora 758 and Butch Mateo 724 points. Top scorer for the losing team was Cezo Zohair on 728 with James Boyd on 724, Mohamad Anas 718, Angel Caasi 687 and Butch Espinosa 681.
Defending champion United Global mentored by Jeff Nierva defeated IBG Storm of Ric Singson 20-11 with Sobrebiga at the helm shooting the Best Bowler of the Week award-clinching high series of 914 on lines of 255, 154, 162 and 195 and 37 handicap. Sobrebiga drew splendid support from Erwin Atienza 819, Sam Dotingco 754, Joselito Santillan 714 and Jeff Nierva 677. Arnold Jesena led IBF by scoring 823. Ronald Cruz 795, Marvin Arocena 761, Resty De Jesus 683 and Lulu Quejada 649 were the other scorers.
Thales mentored by Nelson De Vera demolished SACO team of Jim Dela Rosa 18-9. Newly crowned GCC Bowling Tour ladies Masters champion Niña De Vera took charge at Thales on 825. Celis Viloria and Joel Lambo supported Niña on 779 and 763 while Nelson had 541, Ryan Iñigo 393, Boy Mirando 315 and Cheng Lambo 158. Scoring for SACO were Stephen Solomon 826, George Sto. Domingo 739, Steve Perez 701, Joel Batolina 691,Buddy Balisi 366 and Jim Dela Rosa 321.
In another match, Alsalam Strikers mentored by Bandar Al-Marshad smashed the ABB of Veo Adina 16-12. Alfred Valencia paced Alsalam on 820 followed by Rollie Cleofe 753, Jess Vidal 736 and Rizal Dellosa 707. Mario Rivera 408 and Bandar Al-Marshad 368 were the other Alsalam scorers. For ABB Louie Laguardia 778, Nicanor Marinas 763, Manny Adeva 727, while Joey Buyson 602, Veo Adina 481 and Rick Ian Santos 388 contributed to the team total.
In other matches, Alamrai Co. mentored by Emerson Mitra win against the bye team with 22 points, Rotunda captained by Rey Bautista blasted Minions of KC Enriquez 22-14 and Alinma Bank of Abdulrahman Ahmed defeated Nadec Strokers of Lope Ramirez 14-1 in a 2-2 match.
