The fall of Obama

The fall of Obama

Since way back in 2009 with his hopeful but ultimately embarrassing speech to the Muslim world in Cairo, Barack Obama has consistently let down the people of the Middle East.
From Tunisia and Libya to Egypt and Syria, the Obama administration’s foreign policy has been a disaster to the Arab people. Now comes the end of his second term in office and he has yet failed again to deliver on his promises to Muslims to close Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. There are 59 detainees left, including six each from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Granted, about 35 percent of the nearly 700 detainees who have been released from Gitmo returned to their deviant ways, but it’s been said time and time again that the remaining prisoners are low-grade and there are countries willing to take them in.
This important issue to the Islamic world should have been solved many years ago. Now, as Jan. 20 approaches and Donald Trump takes office as President of the United States, it’s clear that not only will the remaining prisoners continue to be locked up at Gitmo, but we can also expect the prison to stay own another eight years since Trump has indicated a no-holds-barred policy towards terrorists. I expect the prison will fill up again and the United States will have perpetual prison filled with militants who will remain in prison with no charges ever filed against him.
