Ball is Life mow down rivals to lead MoneyGram 3on3 Championship

JEDDAH: Ball is Life stayed unbeaten four games to lead the Open Non Rated Division while three teams share the top spot in the Juniors Division after the second week of eliminations in the MoneyGram 3on3 Championship at the Sheraton Jeddah Hotel Sport Complex basketball court.
Ball is Life cruised to victories against three opponents after its initial win over Maharlikans 51-34. Ball is Life began its Week 2 campaign by beating Titans 40-28 in one of six games Thursday.
Friday, Ball is Life downed New Cabalen Lulu 35-29 and brushed aside Orig Boys 39-26.
New Cabalen Lulu, however, ended the week on 3-1 next to Ball is Life (4-0) after it recovered with wins against sister team New Cabalen Sarawat 34-29 and Uncle Majid 29-26.
In the Juniors, where the bulk of the teams represent the Samahan ng Kabataan sa Jeddah (SNKSJ) with coaches Rey Maddatu, Carlo Carbo, NJ Umlas and Ernel Paner, Black A and B and Gray A share the lead on 2-0 win-loss card. SNKSJ is being managed by Donald Dolloso.
Black A and B snatched victories against Violet A 15-131 and Yellow B 20-16 respectively while Gray A defeated Green 32-31.
Beaten on opening day, Haslo Boys scored two wins Thursday against Titans 31-27 and Orig Bros. 42-41 and climbed to 2-1, while Holdup Boyz opened their account with wins against UMA 38-28 and Taken 33-32 Thursday.
Taken prevented a shutout for the week by edging out Original Boys 24-23 in the second game Thursday.
In other Junior Division games, Gray B defeated Red B 19-13, Yellow A beat Red A 19-14 and Green B downed Violet B 27-18.
The tournament sponsored by MoneyGram in cooperation with FCBL (Filipino Community Basketball League) will run for four weeks and the finals set for May 19. Games are played Thursdays and Fridays.
Noel Miguel heads the FCBL organizing committee as president with Robert Jose as commissioner.
With Miguel and Jose in the Organizing Committee is Tournament Director Jerry Lagrimas. Making up the Technical Committee are: Jess Sales, Zaldy Ramos and Willy Cartagena (play-by-play announcer).
