DUBAI: Shocking footage of the moment a lion jumped on to a vehicle in a South African wildlife park is making headlines.
Posted to YouTube on Monday, the footage shows a lion trying to rip the spare tire off the back of a 4x4 vehicle while its passengers, who remain calm, film the incident.
The driver speeds up and eventually loses the lion, but not before the majestic animal chews through the spare tire.
The incident occurred in a gated lion enclosure at the Natal Lion Park in South Africa.
Reporter Chelsea Pieterse was part of the group told News24 that the group could not get away fast enough due to a bystander.
“Then it jumped and grabbed the tire and started chewing it like a play toy,” he wrote.
“A guy in front was watching and wouldn’t move. We were trying to get away.”
