ISLAMABAD: Al-Samsam 6 — a joint military exercise between the Saudi Royal Ground Forces and the Pakistani Army — concluded in Pakistan on Thursday.
The final day of the exercise was attended by the Commander of Pakistan’s 30 Corps, Lt. Gen. Ikram Ul-Haq, and the Deputy Commander of the Saudi Royal Ground Forces, Maj. Gen. Ahmed A. Al-Shehri, as well as a number of high-ranking officers from the armed forces of both countries.
The exercise comprised a number of operations using live ammunition, including ambushes, combat patrols, dealing with IEDs, and deplaning.
Brig. Gen. Mohammed Al-Bugami, who led Al-Samsam, said the entire three-week exercise had been executed with the utmost professionalism from both countries’ participants, and that integration in command and control had been equally shared throughout.
Al-Shehri thanked the Pakistani government for the hospitality and warm welcome it had offered to the participating Saudi forces, and praised the efforts of all the soldiers and officers who took part.
