Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh has opened a new admissions track allowing high-performing students to be automatically selected for certain courses.
It applies to courses that require a foundation year, and students are automatically granted a place on the full course if they maintain a GPA of 4.5 out of 5 or higher.
This allows them to bypass the regular program application competition and secure a place on their course.
If the student does not achieve an average cumulative grade of 4.5, they can enter the regular allocation mechanism.
High school students who have maintained a grade of 95 percent or above are eligible to apply for the program, and must have graduated within the last year.
It includes courses in healthcare, including medicine and surgery at the College of Medicine, oral and dental medicine and surgery at the College of Dentistry, and doctor of pharmacy at the College of Pharmacy.
The admissions track also applies to courses in the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences such as doctor of physical therapy, diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine techniques, radiotherapy hearing and balance.
Applicants to the College of Engineering can take part in the admissions track for the courses: electronic engineering, communication engineering, renewable energy engineering, industrial and systems engineering, mechatronics and robotics engineering, biomedical engineering and aerospace engineering.
The admissions track for academically distinguished female students is part of the program of the deanship of admission and registration designed to attract talent, aiming to support excellence and innovation and empower female students in line with the requirements of the labor market.
Full conditions and registration requirements are on the university’s website.
