ABHA: The Social Protection Unit in the Asir region, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, took action to save eight children from the domestic violence they were suffering at the hands of their father, according to Okaz newspaper on November 25.
The unit confirmed that it started legal proceedings against the offending father, while the children were taken to a hospital for checkups.
The ministry’s spokesman, Khaled Aba Al-Kheil, said that the protection unit is currently following the case, and that the father was referred to security authorities for investigation according to anti-abuse laws.
