Landmark Group launches ‘Helping Hands’ initiative to boost employee engagement

Landmark Group, the Middle Eastern retail and hospitality conglomerate, introduced its “Helping Hands” initiative between Jan. 18 and 28 — in which the company’s senior leadership visited Landmark outlets across the UAE to lend their retail staff a “Helping Hand,” taking on a specific job for the day.
The initiative was part of Landmark Group’s Happiness Movement, which launched in 2017 to drive overall employee engagement and well-being to create a positive and happy working environment for its 40,000 employees across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
In an effort to bring the organization together as one, senior leaders were assigned a “Retail Buddy” and spent the day in different stores reporting to the store manager as front-line retail staff.
Nisha Jagtiani, group director and chief happiness officer, Landmark Group, said: “Through our Happiness Movement, we are aiming to become the region’s happiest workplace by embedding values of togetherness, positivity and a sense of belonging. ‘Helping Hands’ is an initiative that is very close to our hearts as it is a way to support and connect with our retail colleagues who are the true backbone of the group.”
The “Helping Hands” initiative was rolled out for over 10 days. All 40,000 employees from offices, outlets, and warehouses were simultaneously engaged.
Driven by a Happiness team at the Landmark Group headquarters, the Happiness Movement has identified ambassadors across its businesses to drive the initiative. The campaign reflected the group’s culture of creating exceptional value for all its employees.
