ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is on a positive trajectory of peace and stability due to the great sacrifices of its security forces and people, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa told officers and faculty of Quetta’s Command and Staff College on Wednesday.
According to an official handout circulated by the military’s media wing, he said the job is not over yet, and “we have to carry forward the gains towards enduring peace.” He advised young officers to continue excelling in their profession.
Bajwa visited the headquarters of the Southern Command in Quetta, where he was briefed on, and expressed satisfaction with, the progress of socioeconomic and security initiatives in the area, including fencing along the Balochistan portion of the border with Afghanistan, the Quetta Safe City Project, and the Khushal Balochistan (Prosperous Balochistan) initiative.
