DUBAI: Civil society organizations in Yemen sent an appeal to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on Monday to increase the level of support to the National Commission of Inquiry in Human Rights Violations in Yemen and to reflect this support in the purported resolution on Yemen in the 39th Session of the Human Rights Council.

The statement read: “The National Commission has made great successes in the field of monitoring, documenting and investigating different violations since the issuance of the above-mentioned HRC resolution. The Commission intensified its presence in all territories of Yemen; investigated and collected information on violations perpetrated by all parties; and established a comprehensive database for all victims of violations for use during peace time to achieve accountability, justice and reconciliation in Yemen. In addition, the Commission issued several general and specific reports containing results of investigations it conducted in all parts of Yemen.”
