RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sent their condolences to the people of Kuwait and the Al-Sabah family over the death of Kuwait's emir on Tuesday.
“With utmost grief and sorrow the news of the death of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jabir Al-Sabah, the Emir of the State of Kuwait, may Allah bestows mercy upon him and rest him in His widely vast paradise,” read a statement on Saudi Press Agency.
The statement by the Saudi Royal Court said the leader passed away leaving behind “a procession full of achievements and endeavors exerted to best serve his country, the Arab as well as the Islamic nations and the entire humanity.”

The statement prayed for the poeple of Kuwait and the royal Al-Sabah family to be granted patience and solace.
Meanwhile, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said the world has lost a "wise leader".
“With the departure of Sheikh Sabah, we lose a wise leader who devoted his life to the service of his country and to Arab and Islamic nations,” he wrote on Twitter.
