Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Hefzy joins Sundance Film Festival 2022 jury

DUBAI: Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Hefzy has been named as a jury member for the World Cinema Dramatic category at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. 

This competition features movies produced outside the US.

The festival is set to take place virtually from Jan. 20-30 online due to a surge in international COVID-19 cases.

Hefzy is an award-winning producer credited with more than 30 feature films in Egypt, the Arab world, the US and the UK.

In recent years Hefzy has served on juries at film festivals in London, Venice, Abu Dhabi and Cairo and more.

His films have screened at international festivals including Cannes, Venice, Sundance, Toronto and more.
