DHAHRAN, 24 April — Saudi Aramco has integrated its domestic sales and distribution data through SAP R/3, the world’s most widely used Enterprise Resource Planning software, according to a company statement.
SAP links people, information and multiple business processes into one seamless, integrated system. Saudi Aramco initiated the SAP program few years ago and since then its implementation is proceeding rapidly. Its rollout of 20 bulk plants and 11 aircraft fueling sites across the Kingdom was completed recently. Since then all domestic sales and distribution of hydrocarbon products are processed using this new system.
The Hydrocarbon Management Team was set up to oversee SAP’s integration of domestic sales and distribution of hydrocarbon products for Saudi Aramco.
The products which are involved in the integration include gasoline, diesel, kerosene, jet fuel, asphalt, LPG, propane, fuel oil, crude, sulfur gas and NGL.
The SAP computer center designed the system over a period of three years. Successful processing was completed in September last year for the Dhahran offices of finance and distribution. Next month, the project teams began to install this pilot software.
SAP Hydrocarbon Management provides up-to-the-minute information on inventory, product movements, sales transactions and accounting. In addition, the most recent master data for materials, customer, haulers and sites are available online to users in the Kingdom.
