Philippines: Saguiaranians elect Mapandi

The Saguiaranians  in Saudi Arabia (SSA), an association of Filipino Muslims based in Jeddah, held its annual General Meeting on 20 March 2001 at the Philippine International School in Jeddah Social Hall. 


In the meeting, a new set of officers for the year 2001 and 2002 were elected.


The new SSA officers are as follows: Engr. Linogaranao (Bobby) P. Mapandi, President; Rocaya Utara, VP for Ext. Affairs; Datu Basser Dimacaling, VP for Internal Affairs; Dayamon B. Punguinaguina, VP for Finance; Datu Jacky Balindong, VP for Special Projects; Datu Ansi Jalil Gauraky, VP for Sports & Dev.; Datu Abdullah Mohamad, VP for Membership & Rec.; Datu Karim Matanog, VP for Education & Islamic Affairs; Anisah Tabao Mapandi, VP for Med. & Dental Services; Bae Al-Mahar Punguinaguina, Executive Secretary;  Datu Abdul M. Tabao,Treasurer; Datu Domie Rataban, Auditor; Nashroding Hadji Musa, Allandoni Mapandi, Peace Officer; Bae Sohra Macabago, Buss. Manager; Abdul Rahman Dimaro, Datu Repors H. Salic; Coordinator.


Engr. Mapandi  vowed to provide necessary leadership to the Saguiaranians as his predecessor.


The Saguiaranians in Saudi Arabia is an independent Filipino Muslim civic group duly registered with the Philippine Consulate General office in Jeddah. Apart from its main objective to foster and strengthen friendship and leadership among  members, the group also intends to initiate programs aimed at  promoting unity and friendship among migrant Filipino workers.


It also strives to initiate programs aimed at promoting Islamic awareness among members and to participate in the Islamic propagation activities of other related organizations.
