RIYADH, 11 May — Saudi urologists are invited to compete with their counterparts worldwide for the Erectile Dysfunction Research Awards 2001, sponsored by Abbott Laboratories (AL), Abubaker Moosa, director of business department at AL in the Kingdom told Arab News.
According to this project, grants will be awarded in support of studies from different perspectives, the better to understand Erectile Dysfunction. The studies will focus on this issue from the perspectives of pharmacology, physiology, molecular sciences, clinical pharmacology, epidemiology, and clinical trials, he said.
“This will allow Saudi doctors treating erectile dysfunction (ed) to embark on research in this field equally with their counterparts from all over the world, especially as we have world class Saudi physicians.
“It will be an honor to have Saudi urologists winning this award within two years. It demonstrates AL’s continued support and commitment to new advances and research in urology,” he added.
A high level jury will award grants to a number of research projects this year. A grant value maximum of $25,000 will be available to each winning researcher. The jury will be chaired by Professor Karl-Erik Andersson, from the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, Lund University, Sweden.
