Welcoming the US president to Saudi Arabia

It gives us great pleasure to welcome US President Joe Biden, as a distinguished and very special guest of Saudi Arabia, on his much-awaited visit to the world’s most influential Arab and Islamic country.

All Saudi rulers, from the time of the founder King Abdulaziz up to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, have sincerely stood by and respected the historic pact signed by the two countries more than eight decades ago.

As for the people of Saudi Arabia, we support our leadership and back their policies and agreements that they have taken over the years. History has repeatedly demonstrated that Saudi-American relations have stood the test of time and proved stronger than any other bilateral relations.

Of course, the framework of these relations has undergone some changes with the change of guard in the White House. However, the basis of our bilateral relations has remained as they were founded on the principles of protecting mutual interests and respecting each other’s sovereignty.

President Biden’s visit to Saudi Arabia will be different from those of his predecessors because it truly heralds a new era of transformation and modernization in the Kingdom, something that has not been witnessed by any US president before.

As President Biden visits Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom’s most valued guest, on behalf of all Saudis, I would like to extend my warm welcome to him and the American people, celebrating our 80-year-old historical relations and their positive strength and contribution.

The Kingdom has seen a new era of change under King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with extraordinary changes in all areas and the implementation of several modern initiatives to achieve comprehensive development. I do not mean infrastructure development alone but the enabling of Saudi men and women, that has created qualitative improvement in their lives.

The Kingdom’s technological advancement has placed it in the league of countries that provide modern services and excellent living conditions to their citizens and residents. Moreover, its anti-corruption programs and regulations have placed it at the forefront of countries fighting this issue.

Saudi Arabia has also been ranked as the world’s most secure country, according to international indicators related to security, outperforming the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. As a result of all these positive developments, the people’s satisfaction with the government has only been going upwards.

This is evident in the tremendous support and admiration for the youthful Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, especially from Saudi youth, who account for two-thirds of the nation’s citizens.

As President Biden visits Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom’s most valued guest, on behalf of all Saudis, I would like to extend my warm welcome to him and the American people, celebrating our 80-year-old historical relations and their positive strength and contribution.
