The BBC TV ignored pressure from Israel to halt the broadcasting of its renowned “Panorama” program that focused in detail on the tragedy of Lebanon’s civil war.

The program also dealt with Israel’s invasion of Beirut and the massacre at Sabra and Shatila.

A program like “Panorama”, which is viewed by millions of people around the world, is an indepth documentary showing footage of innocent victims, weeping mothers, widows, the disabled, destruction as well as statements made by lawmakers, war-lords and politicians. This is the kind of media that we should be striving for. Such a media would help to enlighten other countries of the crimes committed by Zionists in the Arab world.

Arab governments should take into consideration the BBC program’s positive stance and its impact upon world public opinion to influence governments’ policies along with the call for the handing over of Ariel Sharon to the International Court of War Crimes. This would expose Zionism’s crimes in the battle of  Jerusalem, Al-Gesstel, Dair Yassien, Qebaiah, and the killings of the 1956 war prisoners, Qana and the ongoing crimes and atrocities by Israel in occupied Palestine.

Wars are not confined to battlefields only. Artful and adequate media can play a great role in pursuance of political support from other nations and to make biased countries understand reality so as to support our just cause.

Our media’s capability is limited in coverage to the Arab world. I have said it once and will continue to stress the need for an Arab CNN TV channel that can communicate with the world through professional journalism and languages that can be understood.
