LONDON, 13 October — Former Kuwaiti Information and Oil Minister Sheikh Saud Nasir Al-Sabah said that Islamic groups had hijacked Kuwait and its people. “These activists have attained influence in Kuwait by taking over major financial sources in their bid to capture power,” he told Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.
Saud warned of the growing influence of Islamists in the government, adding that they are blocking regulations that limit their hold on financial institutions.
