JEDDAH, 23 November — To shrug off their disastrous battles last week, SkyFreight Forwarders and Dove bowling teams, fulfilled their dream when they thrashed Tetra Pak and Internet@Kape in a separate 5-0 and 4-1 settlement on the 6th week of the 27th AFTBL at the Jeddah Bowling Center here.

Both manned by vengeful players, SkyFreight silenced Tetra Pak throughout the match on initial tweak of 990-940, a close a 1006-1002 and a marginal 963-864 while Dove comforted Internet@Kape with a point on the last set (892-923) after shredding pinches of 941-865 & 1000-943 on the two thirds of the fight. Team captain Cris Villavelez with a total scratch series of 862 crated best for SkyFreight with Boy Ramos mantling the thickest at 621. Probing his track with 194 on game 1, Villavelez exploded a 243 on the mid-duel and blasted a 245 on the endgame. Giving solid support to the two prime producers of SkyFreight were FTBJ president Rally Zamora whose 590 included 215 & 218, Hero Garcia whose 580 had sparkling 214 & 216 and Emy de Guzman 500.

Providing greatest opposition for the Tetra Pak’s cause was Jess Pineda scratching 660 from games of 194, 251 & 215. Trying to avoid these calamitous outings, Rudy Punzalan and Bert Tuvera leveraged Pineda with 599 & 566 respectively, but with minimal shares from Leo Laygo and Rodell Ricafort, succumbed Tetra Pak to this catastrophic outcome.

Upon clinching Game 1, Dove already lagged Internet at Kape by 76 pins (941-865) and it bulged to 153 when Danny de Guzman (535) Danny Hizon (549), Amado Lanario (553), Nap Patayan (579) & Edwin Ronquillo (617) lobbed 100-943 on game 2 to purse the bath soap makers of 4 points on final engagement of 2833-2731. Patayan scratched the best game for the winning Dove at 230 on game 1 as Goying Salazar countered a 226 on game 2 for the loser Internet@Kape. Salazar also filed the highest series for his team at 642 including a 223 on game 1 with Mario Narvasa assisting the closest at 598 (203, 208, 187).

On other matches, Sarawat Green Farm gained easy victories over Batterfey VH12 (5-0) with Mao Orolfo leading the frame with 608 from spirited outings of 230-203 & 175. Lining second to Orolfo was Nestor Quiteves whose 222 scratch garnished his 598 series. Ben Maramot, the team captain of Batterfey VH12, led his team with 629 including a 256 hi-game on game 2.

Carding 4-1 were Lux Power Bowlers and Picpa 2002 outscoring Big One Chocolates and Amigos 2 respectively. Global Distribution upset Malaysia Airlines (2764-2753) to sign their match at 3-2. Lindo Villanueva, whose 585 was glared by a 244, top-scored Picpa while Noe Leysa (608) did it for Amigos. Paul Antiporda (604), opposed by Rey Pormilda (586) for Big One Chocolate, led the board for Lux. Ver Luz with 611 handicap series caused most for Global Distribution as Randy Mata 626 (212, 196, 218) parried for Malaysia Airlines. (Pip R. Planas and Rally Zamora)
