RIYADH, 6 December — Prince Sultan, second deputy premier, minister of defense and aviation, has signed a SR368 million contract with a national company for the operation and maintenance of the air navigation system in the Kingdom. The three-year contract, which would guarantee greater safety of air traffic over the Kingdom’s airspace, involves the installation of the system for state-of-the-art operation, communication and radar equipment required for the air navigation on a round-the-clock basis. In addition to the Kingdom’s civil and airforce planes, more than 100 airline companies either passing over or landing in the Kingdom’s airports depend on the Kingdom’s air traffic control system.
