RIYADH, 14 December — Almario and Bautista led Paradise Catering to a convincing victory, 101-73 against Transcon Cargo in the Riyadh Basketball League (RBL) 2nd Inter- company (open but non-commercial) basketball tournament held at Yamamah Hotel, Airport Road, Riyadh.

Paradise catering led 16 points 32-16 in the first quarter of the game. D. Almario scored 8 of his 27 points output in the second quarter and advance the led to 21, 53-32 at the half. Almario and Bautista scored 9 points and 11 points respectively to maintain the lead points at the end of the third quarter and push further to a convincing win 101-73 at the end of the game.

Though there has been constant support from the teammates like R. Faller, who scored 14 points, E. Dela Cruz 16 points and E. Abellana added 11 points, the victory would mainly be attributed to the absence of the Transcon’s main gunner Quiambao and power player E. Gomez.

Meanwhile, Metro Star Express posted a second win 89- 73 against Al Munajem Company.

Al Munajem faired well in the first quarter by posting a lead of 1 point, but the Metro Star went back with a impressive defensive strategy that reverse the led 49-38 at the half. Sabala, Maquilan and Dalisay who scored 30 points, 16 points and 12 points respectively were prolific in the shaded and three point range.

Al Munajem led by De los Reyes, Pieno and Baylon who scored 18 points, 15 points and 13 points respectively showed some resilience in the third quarter by cutting the lead to 8 points but the more consistent and defensive Metro Star cagers prove their worth by ending the game with 16 points advantage 89-73.

Likewise the Yamaha Dawliah made the first win 99-76 against TFC ABS-CBN. Aquino, Labanancia, Garcia and de Leon joined force to dominate TFC from the outset of the first quarter to the end of the fourth quarter.
