RIYADH, 12 February — Microsoft Arabia, the Saudi arm of the giant Microsoft Corporation, has announced that it will be participating in the Third COMDEX Saudi Arabia IT exhibition in Jeddah this April.
The Microsoft pavilion, next to the main entrance of the show, will be the largest stand at COMDEX this year.
“We understand that it will be the only professional Saudi IT exhibition in which Microsoft participates during 2002, “ the exhibition organizer Annick Anthierens said yesterday. “In view of various IT shows being planned around the Kingdom, we are delighted that Microsoft have chosen COMDEX, based on the show’s proven record in delivering a quality professional audience in substantial numbers.” It is organized under the patronage of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The third business-to-business IT show, to be held at the Jeddah International Exhibition Center from April 1 to 4, will be a major event in the newly launched Saudi Technology Week. Over 150 computer, Internet, networking and telecommunications companies will participate in the event alongwith many leading Arab and Saudi IT organizations. Other international brands include IBM, Sony, Canon, Kodak, Apple, SAP, Samsung and National Panasonic.
For the first time, Palestine National Pavilion will be featured at the show.
Direct Saudi participation will include ICC, Al Faisaliah/AIME, Saudi Oger, Alesayi Electronics, ABM, El Ajou, Hoshan Pan Gulf, AlMaalim, New Horizons, Saudi Cable, Al Daleel and Turath and the successful Internet Pavilion for locally-based ISP companies, launched last year.
