CAIRO, 19 June — Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal said here yesterday the entire Arab world is prepared to offer Israel peace in exchange for total withdrawal from occupied Arab land.

He was speaking at a joint press conference with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher after briefing President Hosni Mubarak on his talks last week with US President George W. Bush and Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Bush, who also saw Mubarak earlier this month, was expected to announce later today new plans for reviving the Middle East peace process.

Prince Saud said he also delivered to the Egyptian leader a message from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd and Prince Abdullah, the regent, on developments in the region.

The foreign minister said there was a “convergence of Arab viewpoints on the situation in the Mideast” and that the “American administration had been informed” of that.

“The Arabs affirm that we are ready to sign a peace treaty with Israel the same day that it totally withdraws from occupied Arab territories,” the prince said.
