No plan to revise water tariffs

RIYADH, 13 November 2002 — Minister of Water Dr. Ghazi Al-Gosaibi said here yesterday that his ministry does not have any intention or plan to raise water tariffs. In a statement, Dr. Gosaibi said: “Speculations in the press which pointed to new tariffs are not true.” Present priorities are limited to continuing the administrative structure of the ministry, launching a national plan for water together with rationalizing its use as well as setting up desalination and sewerage projects, he added.
