US envoy’s wife hosts party for ladies

RIYADH, 25 November 2002 — The wife of the US Ambassador to the Kingdom, Dr. Ann T. Jordan, organized a reception for women at the Quincy House here as part of hospitality being extended to the local citizenry during the holy month of Ramadan.

Mrs. Jordan is a popular figure in the local circles and has been interviewed on local television and radio as a celebrity in her own right.

The after Futur ‘dinner’ was well-attended by a large crowd of local ladies as well as a few expatriates. The majority of guests consisted of entrepreneurs, educators, media personalities, professionals, wives of members of the Saudi foreign and government departments and prominent social figures as well as lady staff of the US Embassy . The buffet layout was not only colorful but tasty and was done full justice to by the guests.

Those included in the guest list were, among a host of others,: Ms. Huda Al Jeraisy, Ms. Nada Al Faiyez, Laila Al Wahabi, Amal Al Daer with daughter Fadiya, Ms. Laila and Zainab Tarjuman, Dr.Ibtisam Sadek, Ms. Maha Maluh,Ms. Haiyam Al Kilany, Ms. Elizabeth Colton, Ms. Naeema, Ms. Zubaida, Mrs. Elena Dawood, Ms. Mona Sulaiman of MBC, Dr. M. Omar, Mrs. Nura, Ms. Lina, Mrs. Deborah Robin Croft, press counsellor, and Ms. Shafi Abdallah.
