RIYADH, 14 March 2003 — Riyadh’s ace bowler, Arcie Consolacion added another laurel to his cap by capturing the All Events crown in the just-concluded 2003 Annual Haj Goodwill Games organized by the Overseas Filipino Workers Bowlers of Riyadh (OFWBR) in cooperation with the R-500 and the Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotel.
Consolacion, the defending 2001 Haj masters champion burned the lanes in the team, doubles and singles event to post an impressive 2838 pinfalls, for an average of 202. Consolacion recorded a game high of 222 in the team, 246 in the doubles and 237 in the singles event.
Vher Cayago of Riyadh and who was short of two pins (298) for making a perfect score of 300 during the singles event competition finished second behind Consolacion. Cayago tallied a series of 2779 and got an average of 198.
Singles event champion, Oca Bernabe also from Riyadh Delegation secured the third position with 2730 and rolled a game high of 277 in the singles followed by 222 in the team, and 223 in the doubles. Bernabe got an average of 195.
K-500 consistent player, Rene Tolentino landed in fourth with a series of 2661 and in fifth position was Danny Sabang of the Filbowler who toppled a series of 2627. Ronnie Bernardo was in sixth position with 2624 and occupying the seventh and eight positions are Pep Maghinay of Riyadh and Nap Patayan of FTBJ/BBG who collected a separate series of 2621 and 2615, respectively. Benjie Domado and Abet Azarcon, delegates from Riyadh occupied the ninth and tenth positions with a series of 2610 and 2597.

Meanwhile, the OFWBR is now gearing up for the preparation of the One-Day Fund Raising Campaign which will start next month at the Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotel Bowling Center, FAL Bowling Center and the Riyadh Bowling Club (RBC). The proceeds of this fund raising campaign will be used by the Riyadh Delegation to the forthcoming 2003 Annual Ramadan Goodwill Games hosted by the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah (FTBJ).In another development, OFWBR would like to inform all the bowlers around the globe that the “Past & Present OFWs Worldwide Summer Reunion All Filipino Bowlfest” has been moved on May 7. The venue of the games will be the SM City Bowling Center located at SM Annex Building, SM West, North Edsa,Quezon City, Philippines. Entry fee is PHP2500 inclusive of balikbayan souvenir T-shirt and lunch.
