JEDDAH, 16 March 2003 — Saudi Arabian Airlines will operate two new weekly flights to Cochin, a tourist resort and business center in the south Indian state of Kerala from March 30, it was announced here yesterday.
Dr. Khaled Bin Bakr, director general of Saudia said the airline will also operate two flights to the Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheikh from June 25 and to the Saudi city of Dawadmi from April 2. This brings the total number of domestic and international destinations covered by the airline to 80 — 54 international and 26 domestic. He said the Jeddah-Riyadh-Cochin flights will be available on Sundays and Mondays and the Sharm El-Sheikh flights on Sundays and Thursdays.
Referring to the Dawadmi flights, Bakr said there will be four flights per week, on Wednesdays and Fridays, two each from Riyadh and Jeddah. He described India and Egypt as the airline’s biggest markets in Asia and Africa.
Saudia operates 56 flights to Egypt from Madinah, Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam.
