Red Bull plans Mideast Expansion

DUBAI, 18 April 2003 — Red Bull Founder and President Dietrich Mateschitz met with Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Minister of Defense Mohammed ibn Rashid Al-Maktoum during his visit here last week.

The Austrian businessman expressed his appreciation for the support that the company has received in different countries of the region, especially the UAE. He expressed his confidence in the future success of Red Bull in the Middle East given a strong and stable growth over the last few years.

“The Middle East is very important to us as we multiply our investments and commitments daily in its different countries. The opening of a regional office is a result of this policy and proof of our commitment to the region and our plans to expand our business in the region,” Mateschitz said. “Our team in the UAE manages and handles the marketing and sales in more than 12 countries stretching from the Gulf to North Africa. More than 120 employees in this company are located in different countries in the region, and they are part of 1,600 members who are scattered all around the world,” he added.

Red Bull energy drink is now distributed in more than 80 countries around the world. It entered the UAE market in 1998 and is available throughout the GCC, Yemen, Lebanon, Jordan and Morocco.
