Limvudocie, Friends & RTC-D’Hardcore Overpower Opponents: AFTP Tennisfest

RIYADH, 25 July 2003 — The Limvudocie group headed by Ed Galvez and Herbie Trazo stretched their lead against the Eskan Patriots team of Ed Dooma and Hisham Hizazi at the center court of the ongoing AFTP Independence Cup 2003 which is now in its 9th thrilling week.

The Friends squad of Ace Espiritu and Bogs Gonzales led with a commanding performance 48-30 against the RTC-Royal Balls team of Lindy Capal and Mike Sharif in Court 6, while the RTC-D’Hardcore group of Habib Ali Batua bundled out at 39-37 the Tanmia-sponsored Supreme Smashers team of Rommel Calzote and Melvin Abarquez at court No. 1.

D’Equalizers Rockers of Marlon Dela Cruz produced another upset ousting the Kharabha team 44-33. Pace-Setters team of Clifford Mendez and Joey Salem pushed to a 40-35 lead against the Lucky Shots team at Court 4.

The Aces & Faults fighters snatched a 39-37 win over the Passing Shots group of Fidel Lozano and Prophetiso de Leon at Court 5 in the ABC category. The Al Mashrik team of Gerry De Guzman and Mario Abrasaldo beat the Patriot Builders team 46-23. Aero Balls mentored by Robert Romero and Dante Pozaz won 46-22 against the Blockbusters group of the BC Category.

The Communications team of Siemens headed by Juanito Sanz and Jonathan del Pilar won 39-38 against the D’Equalizers. D’Genesis mentored by Ray Axalan proved too strong against the Meteor Volley 48-24. The Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian City (SBAHC) managed by Romy Ocena and Ding Verdan won 47-35 against the RTC-D’Hardcore.

This event of the Association of Filipino Tennis Players (AFTP) in Riyadh played on Wednesdays from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and on Thursdays and Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. is being held at the sprawling Al Yamama Hotel Sports Complex.
