SINGAPORE, 26 July 2003 — Singapore Airlines (SIA) has clinched top spot in three separate reader surveys conducted in recent weeks. Global Finance and Media magazines, based in the United States and Hong Kong, respectively, and Britain’s The Guardian newspapers all ranked the airline No. 1 in different polls. Global Finance, published by Global Finance Media Inc. of New York, said it surveyed 15,000 of its 235,000 readers around the world to ensure that its second Global Finance Awards truly reflected the real experience of business travelers. Its readers voted SIA best in airline and airline-Asia Pacific categories. SIA won both awards in 2002 as well. SIA also finished top in Media’s second annual Top Asian Brands poll. Conducted among subscribers of the magazine, the poll ranks corporations in a wide range of industries in Asia-Pacific region, using several criteria. SIA scored strongly in terms of innovation, quality, strong vision and up-to-date and most successful branding. In Britain, SIA was voted best leisure airline for the third year running in the annual Guardian/Observer Travel Awards. A record number of 24,000 readers participated in the voting. (KSR)
