ALKHOBAR, 27 February 2004 — The Filipino Tennis Expatriates Association (FETA) held recently a two-day tennis tournament exclusive for club members only in honor of Jun Cabaccang and Mike Cortez who both went back to the Philippines for good. The tournaments were named after these two men: The Jun Cabaccang Cup and The Mike Cortez Cup. The Presidential Cup, in honor of FETA's current president, Willie Basilio, was also held simultaneously.

Jun Cabaccang is a tennis legend in his own right. He spent almost half of his life in the Kingdom. He worked for the Ministry of Health for 25 years. He was one of the original and founding members of FETA and elected by his peers as the Club's president in 1999 to 2000.

Jun made his mark in tennis when he was younger and has stamped his class over his rivals with numerous singles and doubles championship titles in various categories. He has also proven that despite his age he cannot be counted out with wins over younger players following his runner-up finish at the Telemoney Open 2003.

But it was not just tennis that made Jun Cabaccang an endearing person, he was a very good friend to all tennis players and fans.

Mike Cortez on the other hand has so much to brag about in terms of tennis accomplishments. He is undoubtedly one of the many young talented tennis champions that FETA has ever produced. Mike's final and tennis tournament appearance ended in grand style with a runner-up finish at the FETA Lotto ATP Open 2003 Class A Doubles two months ago.

Mike did not only win numerous doubles tennis championship titles but also captured the hearts of many with his charming personality that made him the most popular original member of FETA Glamour Boys. Mike was a dedicated and loyal member and has also served as FETA's tournament director in the past. The two-day tournaments had been organized by Butch Claro — FETA's tournament director and sponsored by Pulz Energy Drink. The following are the winners:

Jun Cabaccang Cup — Class A Singles; Champion: Sonny Orcales; Runner-up: Rey Reyes. Mike Cortez's Cup — Class C Doubles; Champion: Freddie David & Rudy Ytorallade; Runner: Alfred Villanueva & Willy Solis

Presidential Cup — Class B Doubles; Champion: James Lobaton & Nestor Oribello; Runner-up: Ruben Vivar & Leo Asuzena.

FETA bids them goodbye and wishes them the best as they start a next chapter in their lives.
