JEDDAH, 26 March 2004 — An art exhibition of Arabian horses is on display at the Rolls-Royce showroom on Tahlia Street until the end of the month. The collection shows Wafa Al-Aqeel’s equestrian passion in over 50 pieces.

The event, inaugurated by Prince Sultan ibn Muhammad, member of the board of directors of the Equestrian Club, has attracted both art lovers and the community at large.

The beauty of the Arabian horse, with all its subtle variations, has been a favorite and yet challenging subject for artists through the ages. “These are grandiose, powerful drawings, a spectacular triumph of the artist over the most difficult of all subjects,” said art connoisseur and columnist Mishaal Al-Sudari.

“It’s the sensitive observations of her favorite image that contribute to the freshness and vibrancy in her drawings, and her accomplished skill as an artist delivers the final product,” said Professor Abdulhalim Radhawi, a pioneer of the art movement in the Kingdom. “I thoroughly appreciate the vital role played by Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors in bringing my exhibition to life,” said Wafa. This, her second show, is supervised by the International Gallery Center and supported by Sa’ad Company for Trade. The show ends next week.
