ALKHOBAR, 16 April 2004 — The first quarter of the year has been a very fruitful one for the Filipino Expatriates Tennis Association (FETA) and members dominating the recently concluded Al-Rushid Tennis Tournament and the Juffali Team Tennis event here.
The players from the club also successfully defended most of the flight categories they had won last year in this year’s Ras Tanura Tennis Association Tournament.
In order to keep the momentum going and in recognition of their remarkable achievements, all the champions and runner-ups were treated to a ceremonial dinner during the monthly membership meeting held at Al-Mohawis Club House on April 7.
“This has been a successful campaign so far!” said FETA President Willie M. Basilio. “We really mean business and we intend to harvest more trophies in the coming tournaments. The members are all in great shape and I can see their hunger in their eyes. This is really wonderful. I am very happy not just for my colleagues who won but also for myself because finally I have also won one trophy that has eluded me ever since I started competing in tennis. I just hope that we can keep the momentum going and win some more in the upcoming tournaments. This is also a good encouragement for other FETA members to aspire to win and at the same time to have more friends through tennis.”
Following are the winners in the respective tournaments they have entered in:
