RIYADH, 30 April 2004 — Dugong Bughaw outbowled everyone else for Team of the Week honors and Toto Villalva topped the individual race during the seventh session of the Pizza Inn Thursday Night Bowling League Second Conference at the Riyadh Bowling Club lanes here.
A 26-8 rout of Dink Fair “Sweater” on total pinfalls of 3,993 and 3,549 propelled Dugong Bughaw to their maiden team award. D’Marvelous narrowly escaped defeat from Amera Cargo when their four-game match ended in a 19-18 decision on total pinfalls of 3,793 and 3,766. Kirotzky distinguished themselves as the lone team to break 4,000 when they shot 4,009 pinfalls and 24 points in beating The Bowlmates, who tallied 18 points and total pinfalls of 3,459.
“A” Bowlers crushed X-tremes 25-12 (3,945-3,735) and Keglers Manila walloped D’Young & Veterans 22-19 (3,974-3,851) in other matches in the five-man team league event. Villalva fired the high series of 882 on rounds of 215, 225, 226 and 216 to become Bowler of the Week and the top man for Keglers Manila.
At the vanguard of Dugong Bughaw’s onslaught was Benjie Macatuno with 858. Reny Dimapilis and Boy Mirando did their share at 846 and 837, while Frank Ranera made 542 to go with the 405 by Mudz Dais, 340 by Shakur Kamlian and 165 by Freddie Santiago.
Kirotzky drew 854 from Romy Zafe, 851 from Danny Francisco and 827 from Mar Viloria, besides 766 from Alex Paguila, 571 from Lito Marukot and 140 from Henry Pablo.
Angel Pantoja and Manny Lebrilla led the scoring for “A” Bowlers at 844 and 814 respectively.
Marvin Arocena added 735 and Darcy Odono 608. Besides Villalva Nestor Ranido was the only other bowler to break 800 for Keglers Manila with 818, while Miles Rodillas chipped in 780 and Bobby Ferrera 768.
