Victor Berdin Captures All Filipino Title in a Nail-Biting Finish

RIYADH, 30 April 2004 — In last week’s action, Victor Berdin defeated Gani Buen in a nail-biting match to win the All Filipino Friday One-Day Tournament title at the FAL Bowing Alley. The event is organized by Gigi Enriquez, Willy Nogoy, Arnel Gordovez and Joey Maningas.

Berdin and Buen ended their games by posting an identical five-game series handicap of 1,033. To break the tie and to determine the winner, the high and low difference was applied with Berdin beating Buen (21-62) to bag the title.

Landing in third position was Gigi Enriquez with 968 series while the fourth and fifth positions went to Jeffrey Jimenez and Mikey Alcaraz with a five-game series handicap of 958 and 955. Manny Balanque and Armin Isles toppled an identical series of 953 to occupy the sixth and seventh positions, respectively. Ricky Talde took eight with 946 while Rey Mendoza finished ninth with 943.

Willy Nogoy finished tenth with 938 series and in 11th position was Fred Dilapdilap with 932 series. Alex Tajan and Rey Lansang secured the next two positions by carding separate series of 930 and 929. On 14th and 15th positions were Arnel Gordovez (926) and Mario Rivera (924) while Benny Mondoy was 16th with 924 and Fred Zacarias came in 17th spot with 918.
