JEDDAH, 11 June 2004 — The National Home Health Care Foundation hosted its annual meeting on Wednesday evening at the Jeddah Equestrian Club under the auspices of Princess Hussa Al-Shaalan, the wife of Crown Prince Abdullah.

The annual meeting was attended by a number of dignitaries from the main branch of NHHCF, members of the Western region and Al-Jouf branches.

The foundation’s Western region branch was launched six years ago under the direction of Princess Adelah bint Abdullah. It aims to provide medical and social services to poor patients and their families.

“It’s an excellent opportunity for the three branches of the National Home Health Care Foundation to meet and share the accomplishments of the Western region, such a meeting provides insight to requirements in the social services sector and gives opportunity of sharing experiences and learning,” said Princess Adelah.

The meeting was a success, attended by hundreds of women in support of the Foundation’s efforts. Featuring an exhibition area for its medical and social programs, it kicked off with a tour of the displays staffed by volunteer groups and medical support teams, who gave a presentation of the various programs and activities of the foundation.

In addition to providing all the medical and social programs under one umbrella, the NHHCF also generates the necessary funding and support by launching a series of fundraising activities. After the tour of the Foundation’s exhibition, Princess Adelah gave a brief introduction, followed by a presentation by the NHHCF’s medical director, Dr. Niveen Al-Khaldi, on the achievements to date and future plans.

The National Home Health Care Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides free medical and social services to maximize the quality of life at home for Saudi patients in need, especially those in remote areas. It acts as a bridge between disadvantaged patients and the community through fundraising events and projects to ensure the continuity of home health care services.
