JEDDAH, 6 September 2004 — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd and Crown Prince Abdullah yesterday said the government would deal firmly with all extremists and deviants who try to destabilize the country.

“We’ll stand against every extremist and deviant thoughts aimed at undermining the Kingdom’s security and stability,” the Saudi Press Agency quoted the king as telling Education Minister Dr. Muhammad Al-Rasheed and regional education directors.

King Fahd, who met the officials separately, promised the government’s continued support for the education sector.

Prince Abdullah warned teachers against promoting terrorism and foreign ideologies. “I would like to tell you certain things that concern you as well as those working under you. First, your service must be for the religion and nation... not for terrorism or foreign ideologies,” SPA quoted the crown prince as telling the officials.
